Lakeside had a strong and steady month of attendance in May, with the schoolwide average remaining above 92% each week, beginning at 94.4% in Week 1 and finishing at 93.8% in Week 4, reflecting consistent commitment across classrooms. Kindergarten showed growth throughout the month, with Mrs. Horner finishing especially strong at 98.3% in Week 4 and Mrs. Ord reaching a high of 97.1% in Week 3. Grade 1 maintained solid attendance in the mid-90s for most of the month, while Grade 2 remained consistently above 90% each week. Grade 3 showed resilience, as Mrs. Welsh's class rebounded from 81.3% in Week 2 to an impressive 97.9% by Week 4, and Mrs. Hayes's class maintained steady performance in the low-to-mid 90s. In Grade 4, both classes demonstrated dependable attendance. Grade 5 stood out with exceptional attendance, reaching 98.5% in both Weeks 2 and 4, while Mrs. Hill’s class also showed outstanding consistency, maintaining 95% or higher every week. Encouragingly, chronic absenteeism trended downward over the month, improving from 25.81% in Week 2 to 24.73% in Week 4. Additionally, tardies decreased from 222 in April to 206 in May, highlighting improved routines and a stronger focus on getting students to school on time. Overall, May reflected a positive trajectory in attendance with much to celebrate across the school.
