This is guidance for school attendance if your learner has missed school due to the bus not running. We are asking families to write a note, have it signed by the bus driver, and turn the note into the school secretary. Due to the unavailability of county-provided transportation, the note will not count towards the student's 10 parent notes.

There are 7 important announcements for the Lakeside Elementary Community:
1. As of Sunday afternoon, the sidewalks at Lakeside are still ice. We are asking families who drop off their learners in the morning to use the lane closest to the school. Please drop off the learners right in front of the school’s awning and have them leave the car on the passenger side, if possible.
2. The Grade 1 program scheduled for February 12 has been moved to the spring due to missing important preparation days. The date will be announced at a later time.
3. The Book Fair is scheduled for the week of February 9th.
4. We have a fun-filled day scheduled for February 12 which will include the AR Reward of taping Dr. M to the wall, the Kindergarten Family Lunch, Valentine’s Day Party, last day of the School Book Fair, and even a special PTO Valentine’s Day Dance for students from 6:30-7:30 PM.
5. As school spring field trips are coming up, we are planning a series of Fun Fundraisers to help cover expenses. The first is a Jersey Day on Friday, February 6, a Camo Day on Monday, February 9, and a Hat Day on Friday, February 20. Participation in each event is $1.
6. The Local School Improvement Council or LSIC Meeting for the third quarter is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, from 4-5 PM.

There are two important messages for Wednesday, January 21.

1. We apologize for the lack of communication regarding the bus changes. We will work harder to communicate changes as they influence our learner's routes to ensure families are unaware of changes in bus routes.
2. Popcorn will be sold tomorrow, January 22, instead of Friday. If your child is interested in purchasing popcorn, the cost is 50 cents.
